Autoimmune disorder (AID) is a condition in which the body’s immune system begins to attack healthy cells and cause diseases. Stress and unhealthy food are the main reasons.
A research conducted on mice has revealed that a high molecular switch called VGLL-3, which regulates immune response genes in skin cells, causes autoimmune diseases.
According to this study published in the science journal JCI Insight, the role of VGLL-3 is important. Three years ago, a team of researchers from the University of Michigan showed that women’s skin cells had more VGLL-3 than men.
Doctor K.K , says that autoimmune disorders often mimic many other health conditions and therefore it is difficult to find an accurate diagnosis for them, “they can affect different parts of the body. However, it is important to look for long symptoms, especially when they last for a long time.
Dr. K.K pointed out that some of these include new allergies, increased sensitivity to chemicals, foods or odors, lack of energy, brain fog, and even anxiety and depression.

People with certain risk factors are more susceptible to A.I.D than others. In women, it can occur during the childbirth years. Some other factors are age, some bacterial or viral infections and exposure to environmental toxins of diet and chemicals.
Some examples of AID include multiple sclerosis, type-1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic thyroiditis. There are over eight crore types of AIDs and they affect about one hundred million people worldwide.
According to Dr. K.K, at least ten percent of the population in India is suffering from such different conditions. Each AID has different symptoms, so their treatment may also vary.
Catering methods have a major role in the prevention of AID. Processed food found in the market can not only cause inflammation but also affects the immune response. A healthy and balanced diet can do wonders for stomach health and a strong immune system.
